In response to an invitation by the Holy Father, as of January 2024, the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of Santa Scolastica in Argentina have resumed their ministry of prayer, adoration, lauds and reparations at the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, in the Vatican Gardens, to support the Holy Father in his daily care for the whole Church.
On 10 September, two young students from Villanova University, Pennsylvania, began an internship at the Internet Service Provider Office of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems and at the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage.
“Forty-one years of history of the Patrons of the Arts of the Vatican Museums are the result of a common journey”, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State, said in her greeting to the annual meeting of the Chapters of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums held at the Taylor Education Center in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon, 22 September, the second to last day of her visit to the United States of America.
On Tuesday, 4 June, Sister Raffaella Petrini, General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State met with Joseph Simon Donnelly, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Holy See, at the Offices of the Governorate. The Diplomat was accompanied by Paul Furgiule, Deputy Facility Manager & Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO), Andrea Battilocchi, Supervisory Engineer and by Alyce Ahn, Political and Economic Officer of the Embassy.
The Governorate of Vatican City State is committed to the promotion of institutional communication.
The launch of the new website,www.vaticanstate.va, and the creation of an online quarterly magazine, titled, “From the heart of the State – The Governorate shares its news”, are part of this commitment.
The institutional website, www.vaticanstate.va , which has been available in Italian, Spanish and English, as of 13 September, has been expanded to include a version in French.
The Governorate of Vatican State has inaugurated its X (Twitter) account, aimed at informing the public on its activities.
The creation of the account, “Governatorato SCV”, has the aim of reaching people and bodies that primarily use social media to get their information, and strengthening wide-ranging communication to make the activities of the Governorate known.
As the Jubilee approaches, the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls is in need of restoration works to ensure that pilgrims can visit the complex in complete safety. To this end, the Governorate of Vatican City State and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of Azerbaijan, signed an agreement titled ,“The Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls - Jubilee 2025”, on Wednesday morning, 11 September. Under the Agreement, which was signed by Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, and Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Executive Director of the Foundation, the crucial restoration works will be funded by the Foundation.
The Musical Band of the Gendarmerie Corps, directed by Stefano Iannilli, and the Musical Band of the Italian Military Navy, directed by Ship Commander, Antonio Barbagallo, will hold a concert on Friday, 25 October, at 6:00 p.m. in the New Wing of the Vatican Museums. The concert will be the last in the series of concerts titled, “Music at the Museums 2024”.
On Friday morning, 19 July, Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga and Sister Raffaella Petrini, respectively, President and General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State, met with H.E. María Leticia Casati Caballero, Ambassador of Paraguay to the Holy see on a farewell visit.

It will be an opportunity to exchange reflections on cultural changes in the management and administrative area, fostered by the implementation of the principles of Catholic social teaching.
The Illinois Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums is commemorating the tenth anniversary of its initiative, “Integrating Art & Faith”.
On Saturday, 26 October, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, visited the Texas Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, at St. Thomas University in Houston, United States of America.
The bond between art and faith, between evangelization and creative expression and the role of the Vatican Museums within this context were some of the topics discussed at a round table discussion between Cardinal Blase Joseph Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, and Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, held on Saturday afternoon, 2 November at the University Club of Chicago. Moderated by Rev. Louis J. Cameli, Delegate of formation and mission of the Archdiocese.
Vatican City State and Italy, through the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, will issue a joint stamp to commemorate the institution of the Venice Foundation for Research on Peace.

With little more than a month to go to the opening of Jubilee 2025, the Directorate of Health and Hygiene is preparing to receive the influx of pilgrims, by maximizing its capacity to intervene and assist the many faithful who will pass through the Holy Door. As part of these preparations, two new ambulances have been donated to the Directorate, by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and by the Futuro Salute ETS Per Nuovi Modelli di Welfare Foundation.

The global conference took place on 14 October in New Delhi, India, ahead of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-24) which will be held from 15-20 October.
