The Holy Mass, celebrated on Thursday morning, May 22, in the Vatican City industrial area, was an invitation to hope and to express heartfelt thanks for the immense work, successfully concluded, after the passing of Pope Francis, the subsequent Conclave and the election of Pope Leo XIV. These were addressed by Archbishop Emilio Nappa, Secretary General of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, to the entire staff of employees, technicians and workers of the Vatican Directorate of Infrastructure and Services.

The vatican legal system expanded for the protection of minors

In the Conference Hall of the prestigiousVatican Museums, on the occasion of World Children’s Day, Thursday, November 20, the Seminar on the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons was held. The event was organized by the Office of Labor of the Apostolic See (ULSA), in cooperation with the Accompaniment Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State, and was addressed to the staff of the Roman Curia, institutions connected with the Holy See, and the Governorate itself.

Pope Francis has appointed the following as Secretaries General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, effective 1 March 2025: Archbishop Emilio Nappa, who has been serving as Assistant Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization in the Section for First Evangelization and New Particular Churches, and as President of the Pontifical Mission Societies; Mr. Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi (lawyer), who has been serving as Deputy Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State.

In the spirit of collaboration and friendship

With this issue, the Postal and Philately Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State “intends to pay tribute to an anniversary of great significance in the history of the Holy See’s international relations and in the life of the Catholic community in Indonesia itself.” This was emphasized by Archbishop Emilio Nappa, Secretary General of the Governorate, during the presentation of the postage stamp dedicated to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony took place in the conference room of the Vatican Museums on Friday afternoon, 14 November.

Patroness of Venezuela

A new Marian image has been placed on the walls of the Bastione di Maestro in the Vatican Gardens: Our Lady of Coromoto, Patroness of Venezuela.
In the inaugural ceremony held on the morning of Monday, October 20 — the day after the canonization of the first two Venezuelan Saints, José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles Martínez — the mosaic depicting Mary enthroned with the Child was unveiled and blessed.
