With reference to the traveling photographic exhibition “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition”, organized by the American company Special Entertainment Events (SEE), headed by Mr. Martin Biallas, which was held in London from May 19 to September 6, 2026, and is currently being presented in Columbus (OH), South Jersey (NY), and Las Vegas (NV), the Governorate of Vatican City State and its Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage wish to clarify that the exhibition has not been authorized, endorsed, sponsored, or otherwise supported in any way by the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage of the Governorate of Vatican City State.
In order to ensure that visitors are accurately informed and to make clear that the Vatican Museums have no involvement whatsoever in this initiative, it is hereby stated that no authorization has been granted for the use of the images featured in “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition.”
These images constitute reproductions of cultural property belonging to Vatican City State, which, pursuant to Law No. CCCLV [355]of July 25, 2001, on the Protection of Cultural Heritage, holds all rights to reproduce, use, and commercially exploit such property and the images depicting it.
