A new quarter has successfully concluded with the internship program involving Villanova University, which featured three students from the American university, once again confirming the strength and value of the collaboration between the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems and the U.S. institution for higher learning.
The Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of the Vatican City State continues its collaboration with Villanova University by hosting, in 2025, students from Philadelphia for the second semester of the academic year. This program, created with the goal of connecting academic research with the practical needs of the Governorate, has once again proven to be a valuable opportunity for both institutions.
In questi ultimi giorni del mese di febbraio, si è tenuto un incontro di approfondimento tra i professori dell’Università di Villanova, Daniel Joyce e Frank Klassner, e la Direzione delle Telecomunicazioni e dei Sistemi Informatici del Governatorato. L’appuntamento si inserisce nel percorso di collaborazione avviato negli ultimi anni, un momento di continuità rispetto alla visita precedentemente effettuata dalla delegazione della Direzione, con Davide Giordano e Monica Giuliano, presso l’Ateneo statunitense a gennaio 2026.

El encuentro se inscribe en el marco del itinerario de colaboración iniciado en los últimos años y representa una continuidad respecto a la visita realizada previamente, en enero de 2026, por la delegación de dicha Dirección, integrada por Davide Giordano y Monica Giuliano, al centro universitario estadounidense.
In the final days of February, a follow-up meeting took place between Professors Daniel Joyce and Frank Klassner of Villanova University in Pennsylvania and the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate. The meeting forms part of an educational endeavor established in recent years and represents a continuation of a previous visit by the Directorate’s delegation—Davide Giordano and Monica Giuliano—to the American university in January 2026.
On 10 September, two young students from Villanova University, Pennsylvania, began an internship at the Internet Service Provider Office of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems and at the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage.
Nearly twenty-five years after the first technical internship inside the Vatican carried out with students from Villanova University in Pennsylvania, a delegation from the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of Vatican City State visited the campus of the American university, which had been previously attended by Pope Leo XIV.
