Ben 2.120 lauree sono state conferite dall’Università di Notre Dame, nel corso della 181ª cerimonia di laurea, Commencement 2026. L’incontro, a cui hanno partecipato oltre 20.000 persone, tra studenti, docenti, familiari e amici, si è svolta nello stadio Notre Dame a South Bend, Indiana, Stati Uniti d’America.

For the first time, three States have joined together for a common numismatic issue. This is the collaboration behind the triptych of coins dedicated to the Canticle of the Creatures, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. The initiative, included in the official calendar of Franciscan celebrations, was presented in Assisi on Thursday morning, May 14, in the Cimabue Hall of the “Colle del Paradiso” Conference Center within the monumental complex of the Sacred Convent of Saint Francis.

“Three Saturday Evenings Dedicated to Women” is the initiative taking place in Turin, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, on the Saturdays leading up to the feast of Pentecost on May 24.

“Dream, Make Choices, Set Priorities”

A total of 2,120 college degrees were awarded by the University of Notre Dame during its 181^st commencement ceremony, Commencement 2026. The event, attended by more than 20,000 people—including students, faculty members, families, and friends—was held at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, in the United States.

“The Barberini Tapestry Workshop – The Resurrection and the Dedication of St. Peter’s Basilica” is the theme of the exhibition inaugurated on Monday afternoon, March 30, in the Conference Hall of the Vatican Museums.

Saint Rose of Lima “forever young” at the heart of the Church 

“Rose is the forever young Saint, the one who has inspired sympathy and empathy in millions of faithful not only in Peru, but throughout the entire New World; everywhere her example and her renown are widespread.” These were the words of Sr. Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, during the conference entitled “Saint Rose of Lima, the First Saint of the New World: Contemporary Reflections,” held on Tuesday afternoon, January 27, in the Aula Magna of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

L’economia al servizio della persona

Una dimensione economica “intesa essenzialmente al servizio della persona, e dunque diretta al soddisfacimento dei suoi bisogni, più che alla razionalizzazione delle risorse scarse”, e le scelte economiche come “strumenti integranti dell’azione missionaria della Chiesa, attraverso cui può manifestarsi concretamente la parola evangelica e realizzarsi quello spirito di solidarietà che spezza la cultura dello scarto promossa dal ‘paradigma tecnocratico”’.

“Tre sabati sera al femminile”: è l’iniziativa che si svolge a Torino, nella Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, nei sabati che precedono la festa del 24 maggio.

Economics at the Service of the Person

An economic dimension “essentially understood as being at the service of the person, and thus directed at meeting his or her needs, rather than at the rationalization of scarce resources,” and making economic choices as “integral tools of the Church’s missionary action, through which the evangelical word can be concretely manifested” realizing that spirit of solidarity which breaks with the throwaway culture promoted by the ‘technocratic paradigm.’

During the 31^st Annual Rector’s Dinner of the Pontifical North American College in Rome, held on Thursday evening, April 16, Monsignor Thomas W. Powers, presented the Rector’s Awards to the President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, and to the American couple Curtis and Michaelann Martin.

Heralds of Hope

“In a particular way during this Holy Year, we are called to be tangible signs of hope for those of our brothers and sisters who experience hardships of any kind.” This was the message of Pope Leo XIV to the Knights of Columbus, gathered in Washington, D.C. for the 143^rd  Supreme Convention, held from August 4 to 7.

On December 5^th, Sr. Raffaella Petrini, FSE visited the Ohio Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums in Cleveland, Ohio. At the gala dinner with over 250 persons, the President thanked the Ohio Patrons for their twenty years of selfless generosity in their dedication to restoration of various artistic works of the Vatican Museums.
