Charging stations in Vatican City activated for state and private electric vehicles
The "Ecological Conversion 2035" program, launched in 2022 and aimed at reducing CO2 emissions to zero, has accomplished another important goal: Starting June 16, charging stations for electric vehicles owned by the State and private ones belonging to employees of the Governorate and the Holy See will be available at the Petriano parking lot by the Sant’Uffizio (20 "fast" charging points on 10 columns and two "ultra-fast" charging points on an additional column).
This is the first time that a charging service for electric vehicles is offered, alongside the sale of traditional fuels.
The service will be provided via a personal service badge, which, upon registration and signing of the supply agreement, will be activated at the Economic and Mobility Services of the Directorate of Economy (formerly the Passes and Fuel Office), on the ground floor of the Governorate Palace.
In the coming months, the development of the network of electric vehicle charging points will continue within the Vatican City State and in some extraterritorial areas.
Once the service is activated, simply hold your personal badge near the sensor on a charging station located within the Vatican City State to charge your vehicle.
Parking in the parking spaces will be permitted only for the time strictly necessary to charge your vehicle; any lapse will be monitored and sanctioned.
Furthermore, in the coming weeks, the Governorate will offer its employees a direct medium- and long-term rental service of electric vehicles in order to facilitate the ecological transition and the environmental sustainability of private transportation to and from the Vatican City State.
