Philatelic Volume 2025 and Special Postal Cancellation for the 59th World Day of Peace

For the year 2025, the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of Vatican City State has brought together, in a single volume, all philatelic issues along with the official postmarks issued during the year.

The publication is produced in a multilingual edition, with texts available in Italian, English, French and German.

The cover is enhanced by a photograph depicting Pope Leo XIV when he appeared on the central Loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica on the day of his election as Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church.

The volume measures 24 by 32 centimeters and is produced by the Vatican Printing Press. The retail price is set at €95. The edition is limited to 1,600 copies, each bearing a sequential number.

In addition to the Philatelic Volume 2025, to mark the fifty-ninth edition of the World Day of Peace, the Postal and Philatelic Service will make available a special postal cancellation to commemorate the occasion.

The cancellation will be dated 1 January 2026 and features an original graphic design developed around the theme chosen by Pope Leo XIV for the Day: “Peace be with you all: towards a disarmed and disarming peace.”

Completing the composition are the motto of the initiative, the celebratory wording of the World Day of Peace and the indication of the Vatican postal issue with the official date.
