The “Concert in Honor of the Holy Father Pope Leo XIV” was held on the evening of Saturday, 18 July, in the Courtyard of the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo, in the presence of the Pope. The event was offered by the Suburbicarian Diocese of Albano as “a gift to the Holy Father, to express our closeness and affection for him through a moment of authentic beauty.”

In this regard, the Bishop of Albano, Bishop Vincenzo Viva, expressed the hope that the evening “may remain in our memories as a moment of authentic beauty and a shared gift within our Church of Albano, accompanied by our affection and prayers for the Pope and for the ministry entrusted to him.”

The concert opened with a performance of Niccolò Paganini’s La Polacca, followed by an arrangement by Academy Award winner Luis Bacalov of Vincenzo Bellini’s masterpiece, Norma.

The soloists were accompanied by the 55-member “I Musici di Parma” orchestra, conducted by Pier Carlo Orizio.

Among those attending the event were the President of the Governorate and the Director of the Pontifical Villas.
