Presto disponibili le nuove emissioni per l’Anno Santo

La Commercializzazione Filatelica e Numismatica dello Stato della Città del Vaticano è lieta di annunciare che saranno prossimamente disponibili le nuove emissioni previste per l’Anno Santo 2025.

È stata ricollocata nei Giardini Vaticani la lignea Croce lituana.

La breve cerimonia si è svolta, lunedì mattina, 24 febbraio, alla presenza dell’Ambasciatore della Repubblica di Lituania presso la Santa Sede, S.E. signora Sigita Maslauskaite-Mažiliene, accompagnata dal Capo Cancelleria Elze Di Meglio. La Croce è stata sottoposta a un delicato restauro da parte degli esperti dei Musei Vaticani. Il ripristino è stato eseguito da alcuni operatori di una squadra manutenzione dei Musei.

Hundreds of people gathered in Saint Peter's Square to pray the Rosary for Pope Francis. As part of AI for Good summit, and at the conclusion of the week organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) within the framework of the WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025, the morning of July 11 featured a particularly significant event: the Ambassadors Roundtable, a high-level discussion platform that brought together ambassadors and permanent representatives from major international missions to the United Nations in Geneva. Digital totems, LED giant screens and computers for the Vatican Museums and Saint Peter’s Square

On Wednesday afternoon, 18 December, Samsung Electronics Italia s.p.a. formalized its donation of digitaltotems and latest generation LED giant screens to Vatican City State, with the signing of the deed of donation at the Palace of the Governorate. The devices will be placed in the Vatican Museums and in Saint Peter’s Square, and will be operational by the end of December.

Dall’oscurità alla luce

Durante la Veglia Pasquale, la notte in cui celebriamo la risurrezione di Gesù dai morti, la Chiesa ci parla con il suo linguaggio potente. È il linguaggio dei simboli. Pope Francis’ visit

Pope Francis’ visit to the  2^nd Feast of the Family, held on Saturday, 11 May, in San Michele Arcangelo Square in Vatican City State’s Governorate, was a welcome surprise. The Pontiff paused to speak to participants on the feast day promoted by the Governorate, and offered a special greeting to children and the elderly. He was welcomed by Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, President of the Pontifical Commission of Vatican City State and President of the Governorate, by Sister Raffaella Petrini, General Secretary, by Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, Vice General Secretary, and by Father Franco Fontana, Director of the Community of Salesians in the Vatican and chaplain of the Directorate of Security and Civil Protection Services and of the Vatican Museums.

La visita di Papa Francesco

È stata una gradita sorpresa la visita di Papa Francesco alla seconda edizione della Festa della famiglia, sabato 11 maggio, nel piazzale San Michele Arcangelo del Governatorato dello Stato della Città del Vaticano. Il Pontefice si è soffermato a parlare con i partecipanti all'iniziativa promossa dal Governatorato e ha salutato in modo particolare i bambini e gli anziani. Ad accoglierlo, il Cardinale Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, Presidente della Pontificia Commissione per lo Stato della Città del Vaticano e Presidente dello stesso Governatorato, Suor Raffaella Petrini, Segretario Generale, Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, Vice-Segretario Generale, e don Franco Fontana, direttore della comunità salesiana in Vaticano e cappellano della Direzione dei servizi di sicurezza e di protezione civile e dei Musei Vaticani.

The Synod was talked about in Houston too, during an address by the Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, to a conference aimed at business leaders, promoted by the Lumen Institute, held on Saturday morning, 26 October.

Twenty-three students from Spain, studying for the 2025 Master's Degree, organized by the Cadena de Ondas Populares Españolas, better known as Radio COPE, met with Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate on Friday morning, 24 January, at the Palace of the Governorate.

The important role of Catholic Higher Education

Catholic higher education plays “a very important role”, because the Catholic Church “is still a credible Institution, which people trust because of her ability to be in favour of the human person and to be a mediator in seeking solutions to the more delicate problems in society and in our common life”, said Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, during her address at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU), on Sunday morning, 2 February, at the Grand Hyatt Washington in the capital of the United States of America.

A conscientious  approach to the technology that will transform our future

On 2 March 2026, in the San Pius X Hall on Via della Conciliazione in Rome, at the headquarters of the Labor Office of the Apostolic See (ULSA), a highly significant seminar on Artificial Intelligence was held. The event, organized by the Secretariat for the Economy in collaboration with ULSA, brought together experts of national and international standing to address one of the most pressing issues of our time: the potential and the challenges of AI in the cultural, technical, and ethical context.

On Thursday 20 November, the Seminar on the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons in the Vatican begins in the church of Mary, Mother of the Family at the Governorate, with a Holy Mass celebrated by Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, President of the Fabbrica di San Pietro.

Un approccio consapevole alla tecnologia che trasformerà il nostro futuro

Il 2 marzo 2026, nella Sala San Pio X di via della Conciliazione a Roma, presso la sede dell’Ufficio del Lavoro della Sede Apostolica (ULSA), si è tenuto un Seminario di notevole importanza sui temi dell’Intelligenza Artificiale. L’evento, organizzato dalla Segreteria per l’Economia in collaborazione con l’ULSA, ha riunito esperti di calibro nazionale e internazionale per affrontare uno dei temi più dirimenti del nostro tempo: le potenzialità e le sfide dell’IA nel contesto culturale, tecnico ed etico.

“Questa non è la fine; è solo l’inizio”, ha detto con entusiasmo Angela Kopp alla fine di un giorno intenso del workshop ACME 2026. La signora Kopp, specialista in scienze presso la Holy Cross Catholic School di Overland Park, nel Kansas, era una delle 25 partecipanti ad ACME – Astronomy for Catholics in Ministry and Education – un seminario di una settimana che si tiene ogni due anni presso il Redemptorist Renewal Center nei pressi di Tucson, in Arizona.

Giovedì 20 novembre, nella chiesa di Maria, Madre della Famiglia presso il Governatorato, con una Santa Messa celebrata dal Cardinale Mauro Gambetti, Presidente della Fabbrica di San Pietro, inizierà il Seminario sulla Tutela dei Minori e delle Persone Vulnerabili in Vaticano.
