The bond between art and faith, between evangelization and creative expression and the role of the Vatican Museums within this context were some of the topics discussed at a round table discussion between Cardinal Blase Joseph Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, and Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, held on Saturday afternoon, 2 November at the University Club of Chicago. Moderated by Rev. Louis J. Cameli, Delegate of formation and mission of the Archdiocese.
A wooden statue of the Infant Jesus is now present in the Church of Mary, Mother of the Family, in the Governorate building. It was donated by the community of the Discalced Carmelites of the Shrine of Arenzano (Genoa). The enthronement ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon, March 26, in the presence of Cardinal Domenico Calcagno, President Emeritus of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, who also presided over the Holy Mass.
The 28th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress concluded on September 19 with the Vatican Delegation in attendance. The delegation was led by Antonino Intersimone, Director of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Services, accompanied by Fr. Felice Bruno F.D.P., head of the Vatican Postal and Philatelic Service, and Vincenzo Marrese.

An international scientific conference on “Black holes, gravitational waves and space-time singularities” will be held at Castel Gandolfo from 17 to 21 June to celebrate the legacy of Msgr. Rome, 4 May 2026 – “The Canticle of the Creatures”, one of the most celebrated texts of European spiritual and literary tradition, takes center stage in a shared numismatic project involving the Italian Republic, the Republic of San Marino and the Vatican City State. The result is a triptych of copper coins with a nominal value of €0.75 each, conceived as a single narrative in three chapters dedicated to the work composed by Saint Francis of Assisi around 1224, considered the earliest known text of Italian literature whose author is known.

The traditional Way of the Cross in the Vatican Gardens for employees of the Governorate, will take place during Holy Week, on Tuesday morning, 15 April at 8:15 a.m. The Way of the Cross will begin in the square in front of the Governorate and proceed towards the evocative backdrop of the Lourdes Grotto. Each station will be animated by a representative of each Directorate and Central Office, led by their respective Chaplains. The Via Crucis is organized by the Events Planning Office.
It will be an opportunity to share a moment of prayer in preparation for Easter, in accordance with Pope Francis’ words in his message for Lent 2025:
“God is asking us to examine whether in our lives, in our families, in the places where we work and spend our time, we are capable of walking together with others, listening to them, resisting the temptation to become self-absorbed and to think only of our own needs”.
