Inauguration of the “San Francesco e Santa Chiara” nursery school inside the Vatican

The new “San Francesco e Santa Chiara” (Saints Francis and Clare) nursery school inside Vatican City will be inaugurated on Monday, April 14, at 5:00 p.m. The premises will be blessed by Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, President Emeritus of the Governorate of the Vatican City State. Among others present are Sr. Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate, the two General Secretaries, Archbishop Emilio Nappa, and Atty. Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, and Fr. Franco Fontana, Coordinator of the Chaplains of the Directorates and Central Offices.

Promoted by the Governorate, the new facility is at the service of Vatican employees, in particular families with children between the ages of 3 and 36 months. An early childhood development team will care for and guide them in their infant formation through educational and social activities. The little ones will find a dedicated environment equipped with the tools and materials for nurturing this important phase in their development. The nursery school is open from Monday to Friday, 07:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and conducted in two languages: Italian and English.
