From February medium and long-term rental of low-environmental-impact hybrid vehicles Second phase of the program for employees, organized by the Economic Services and Mobility Office of the Governorate

The Governorate, continuing its commitment to the implementation of the “Ecological Conversion 2030” project—launched following the commitments undertaken upon the accession of the Vatican City State to the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)—has activated the second phase of the medium and long-term vehicle rental program. For the time being the car rental service is reserved for employees of the Governorate of  Vatican City State.

This phase consists of an expansion of the offer—previously available only for fully electric models—to include low-environmental-impact hybrid vehicles, while at the same time providing access to charging services.

As with the previous initiative, agreements have been signed with major automotive groups, including Volkswagen (brands: Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, SEAT, Cupra), Stellantis (brands: Fiat, Lancia, Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Opel, and Jeep), and Toyota (brands: Toyota and Lexus).

This further strengthens the role of the Governorate as a promoter of innovation and environmental responsibility. Indeed, just as the launch last July of a fully electric vehicle fleet was fully consistent with the sustainability path undertaken by public institutions, this new phase likewise reflects a growing awareness of the need to reduce the environmental impact associated with mobility—extending not only to service vehicles but also to the everyday use of employees’ private vehicles.

In this way, the initiative represents a concrete and measurable demonstration of the commitment to contributing to the improvement of the climate context, with particular reference to the metropolitan area of Rome, within which the Vatican City State is located.

All details regarding the procedures for joining the initiative will be made available through the “Economic Services and Mobility” Office of the Directorate of the Economy, which can be contacted at the email address  This email address is being protected from spambots.
