Inauguration of Library in the Apostolic Palace’s Third Lodge
Restoration works of the Governorate of Vatican City State
On Friday morning, 14 June, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, blessed and inaugurated the Library of the Third Lodge of the Apostolic Palace after the completion of restoration works carried out by the Governorate’s Directorates for Infrastructure and Services, of Telecommunication and Information Systems and of Museums and Cultural Heritage.
Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, joined Parolin at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Library was restored thanks to the help of the “Ernesto Bertarelli Foundation”.
The ceremony was attended by Archbishops Edgar Peña Parra, Substitute of the Section for General Affairs, Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations Luciano Russo, Secretary of Pontifical Representations and Msgr Roberto Campisi, Supervisor of the Section for General affairs of the Secretariat of State.
Sister Raffaella Petrini, General Secretary, Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, Vice General Secretary, the engineer, Antonino Intersimone, Director of the Directorate of Telecommunication and Information Systems, and Ms Barbara Jatta, Director of the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage, also took part in the inauguration, representing the Governorate.
