Information Systems Service
History of the Information Systems Service
The Service was first known as the Office of Information Systems. The name was changed to Information Systems Service in 2018 with Law No. CCLXXIV, which brought it under the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate, while still maintaining its previous duties.
The following is the internal structure of the Information Systems Service:
- Administration and Support
- Systems
- User support
- Application Development
The Information Systems Office was instituted in 2002 on the occasion of the promulgation of Law No. CCCLXXXIV on the Governance of the State, for the purpose of handling the acquisition and preservation of data and news pertaining to the State’s activities, through the use of IT procedures, and to manage the IT equipment of the Governorate. It was established through the centralization of technological and human resources already existing in the Governorate’s Directorates, with the addition of some external professionals.
From the very start, one of its main objectives was to provide technical support to the standardization process of the administrative and accounting procedures of the Governorate through specific applied systems and development.
The Service’s point of excellence is also its management of the Help Desk, which is the first port of contact for technical assistance to the entire Directorate.
