Sister Raffaella Petrini conferred with the special prize, the “Marisa Bellisario” award

The special “Marisa Bellisario” award, promoted by the Foundation that bears the same name, was conferred on Sister Raffaella Petrini. General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State.

The award ceremony for the 36th edition was held in Rome on 14 June.

Almost 500 women have been conferred with the ward throughout the years. Among them are Francesca Di Giovanni, Undersecretary of the Secretariat of State’s Section for Relations with States, in charge of multilateral affairs, who received  the international award in 2020 (32nd edition) and Barbara Jatta, the first woman director of the Vatican Museums, who was awarded the special prize for culture on 15 June 2023 (35th edition).

The award is given each year to women who distinguish themselves in various fields: in the professional field, in science, the economy, the social sphere, culture, information, in entertainment and in sports, both nationally and internationally.
