The Musical Band of the Gendarmerie Corps of Vatican City State and the Musical Band of the Italian Military Navy conclude the series of concerts, “Music at the Vatican Museums 2024”
The Musical Band of the Gendarmerie Corps, directed by Stefano Iannilli, and the Musical Band of the Italian Military Navy, directed by Ship Commander, Antonio Barbagallo, will hold a concert on Friday, 25 October, at 6:00 p.m. in the New Wing of the Vatican Museums. The concert will be the last in the series of concerts titled, “Music at the Museums 2024”.
The Bands will perform various pieces from their repertoire. The concert is free of charge, and included in the price of admission to the Museums.
More than 5,000 people attended the 11 concerts that were part of the series, which began on 3 May, and showcased the talents of young musicians from Italian conservatories and International Academies of higher education.
The cultural initiative, promoted by Barbara Jatta, Director of the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM), is part of the Italian Sound project, supported by the Governorate of Vatican City State, the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See.
