    El Apóstol del Nórico

    San Severino del Nórico, nacido hacia el año 410, es una figura central del cristianismo tardoantiguo. Reconocido como santo tanto por la Iglesia católica como por la ortodoxa, dedicó su vida a la evangelización de la provincia romana del Nórico, en la actual Austria, donde fundó numerosas comunidades monásticas. El territorio que frecuentó con mayor asiduidad fue la llanura danubiana, entre Carnuntum y el área de Passavia, la actual Passau.

Riconosciuto santo sia dalla Chiesa cattolica sia da quella ortodossa, dedicò la sua vita all’evangelizzazione della provincia romana del Norico, nell’attuale Austria, dove fondò numerose comunità monastiche. Il territorio da lui frequentato più assiduamente fu la pianura danubiana, tra Carnuntum e l’area di Passavia, attuale Passau.

    The Apostle of Noricum

    Saint Severinus of Noricum, born around 410, is a central figure Christianity of  Late Antiquity. Recognized as a saint by both the Roman Catholic and the Orthodox Churches, he devoted his life to the evangelization of the Roman province of Noricum, in present-day Austria, where he founded numerous monastic communities. The area he frequented most was the Danubian plain, between Carnuntum and the region of Passavia, today’s Passau.
