The Musical Bands of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps and the Rome Capital Police Together in Concert at the Vatican Museums

The Band of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps and the Band of the Rome Capital Police performed together in a concert held in the Braccio Nuovo of the Vatican Museums. The event took place on Friday afternoon, 7 November, as part of the series “Music at the Museums – Jubilee 2025”, organized in collaboration between the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage and the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM).

Conducted respectively by Maestro Stefano Iannilli and Maestro Alberto Di Gianfelice, the two bands performed works by various composers. The musical program opened with Ceremonial Flight, followed by Sentieri di pace by Domenico Agnusdei. Soprano Anna Kazlova lent her voice to the Magnificat by Marco Frisina, and violinist Paolo Coluzzi performed Por una Cabeza by Astor Piazzolla. On the vibrandoneon, Massimiliano Tommasoni played Il Postino by Luis Enrique Bacalov, followed by Conga del fuego nuevo by Arturo Márquez, the March from Act III Finale of Mosè in Egitto by Gioachino Rossini, Alvamar Overture by James Charles Barnes, and Beauty and the Beast (arr. medley by Toshio Mashima) by Alan Irwin Menken and Howard Ashman. The program concluded with Giù la Testa (arr. Lorenzo Pusceddu) by Ennio Morricone.

Among those present at the concert were Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Archbishop Emilio Nappa, and Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, respectively President and Secretaries General of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, along with Barbara Jatta, Director of Museums and Cultural Heritage.
