• 8 de septiembre: Natividad de la Bienaventurada Virgen María

    El cumpleaños de la Madre de Jesús

    La Iglesia Católica y la Iglesia Ortodoxa se unen en la celebración de la Natividad de María. Esta festividad nació en Oriente y fue introducida en Roma por Sergio I en el siglo VII. En ese día, una procesión partía de la iglesia de San Adriano en el Foro y llegaba a la Basílica de Santa María la Mayor. Según el calendario litúrgico, se conmemora el 8 de septiembre. En Oriente, la Natividad de María ya se celebraba en el siglo IV, vinculada a la construcción de la Basílica de Santa Ana en Jerusalén. Este lugar de culto se alzaba en el sitio donde se encontraba la casa en la que María nació de Ana y Joaquín. Desde Jerusalén, el recuerdo de la Natividad de María pasó a Constantinopla, y la Iglesia de Oriente la celebra vinculándola a la Concepción. No se debe olvidar que solo de Jesús, María y Juan el Bautista la Iglesia celebra el nacimiento en la tierra, además del nacimiento en el Cielo.

    The Birthday of the Mother of Jesus

    The Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church are united in their celebration of the Nativity of Mary. This feast was born in the East and was introduced to Rome by Sergius 1, in the seventh century. On that day, a procession would leave from the Church of Sant’Andrea al Foro, and head to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major. According to the liturgical Calendar, the Feast Day was celebrated on 8 September. In the East, the Nativity of Mary had been celebrated since the 4th century and was linked to the construction of the Basilica of Saint Anne in Jerusalem, which was built on the site of Anne and Joachim’s house, where Mary was believed to be born. From Jerusalem the recollection of the nativity of Mary spread to Constantinople, where the Eastern Church linked it to the Conception. It should be noted that the Church celebrates the birth on earth and in heaven only of Jesus, Mary and John the Baptist.

    Il compleanno della Madre di Gesù

    Chiesa cattolica e Chiesa ortodossa sono unite nella celebrazione della Natività di Maria. Questa festa nacque in Oriente e venne introdotta a Roma da Sergio I nel VII secolo. In quel giorno, una processione partiva dalla chiesa di Sant’Adriano al Foro per giungere alla Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Secondo il Calendario liturgico viene ricordata l’8 settembre. In Oriente la natività di Maria era già festeggiata nel IV secolo ed era legata alla costruzione della Basilica di Sant’Anna a Gerusalemme. Questo luogo di culto sorgeva dove si trovava la casa in cui nacque Maria da Anna e Gioacchino. Da Gerusalemme il ricordo della Natività di Maria passò a Costantinopoli e la Chiesa d’Oriente la festeggia collegandola alla Concezione. Non va dimenticato che solo di Gesù, Maria e Giovanni il Battista la Chiesa festeggia la nascita sulla terra oltre che quella in Cielo.
