On the Dies Natalis of Pope Francis

The Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of the Vatican City State has produced a special postmark to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Pope Francis (2013–2025), which falls on April 21, 2026.

The design of the postmark is inspired by a photographic portrait of Pope Francis. The inscriptions read “Primo anniversario del Dies Natalis di Papa Francesco (2013-2025)”, and “Poste Vaticane – 21.04.2026”.

Philatelic items to be postmarked, duly stamped by the sender, must be received by the Cancellation Sector of the Postal and Philatelic Service by May 30, 2026.
