Commemorative envelope, special postal cancellation, and folder marking the first anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV

The Postal and Philately Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate has issued a commemorative envelope, a special postal cancellation, and a presentation folder to mark the first anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV.

The commemorative envelope features the painting preserved at the Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii. Affixed to the envelope is the €1.35 postage stamp issued on May 8, 2026, the day of the Pope's election.

The special postal cancellation depicts Pope Leo XIV in prayer. It also bears the inscriptions: Papa Leone XIV – I Anniversario dell’elezione • Poste Vaticane  [Pope Leo XIV – First Anniversary of the Election] • Poste Vaticane •” and “Die Emissionis 08.05.2026.”

The commemorative envelope is available for €3.00, or €10.00 when purchased together with the illustrated presentation folder. These products are for sale at all Vatican Postal and Philately Offices, including the one located in St. Peter's Square.
