Samsung Electronics Italia’s donation to Vatican City State

Digital totems, LED giant screens and computers for the Vatican Museums and Saint Peter’s Square

On Wednesday afternoon, 18 December, Samsung Electronics Italia s.p.a. formalized its donation of digital totems and latest generation LED giant screens to Vatican City State, with the signing of the deed of donation at the Palace of the Governorate. The devices will be placed in the Vatican Museums and in Saint Peter’s Square, and will be operational by the end of December.

The Vatican Museums will receive 10 totem touch screens, 10 personal computers, 10 mini personal computers, NFC readers, LED giant screens for the ticket office and an IAB 110 series giant screen.

Thanks to these new latest generation electronic devices, visitors will be able to have a more enriching and ever more enhanced experience of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Vatican Museums.

In particular the brightness and UHD resolution of the totem touch screens, will provide detailed information on works of art, with interactive maps and customized itineraries, and an intuitive navigation. Moreover, the managers of Samsun Electronics Italia explained, “The Wall” giant screen, with its high quality images and wide angle view, will combine a spectacular experience with artistic and informative content,

Meanwhile, Saint Peter’s Square will receive a 55 inch touch screen for the new post office, which will facilitate access to postal services and provide useful information to visitors and pilgrims, and a high brightness 55 inch screen, ideal for bright places, that will be placed in the shop area, to provide information on products and upcoming events.
