During the visit to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy on the occasion of the 325th anniversary of its foundation
Pope Leo XIV signed the oversized replica of the commemorative stamp
During his visit to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy marking the 325th anniversary of its foundation, Pope Leo XIV signed the oversized reproduction of the commemorative stamp issued by the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate of the Vatican City State. The event took place on Monday afternoon, April 27, at the historic headquarters of the Pontifical Academy, Palazzo Severoli, located in Piazza della Minerva in Rome.
Together with the Pope’s signature were those of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, Sister Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, and Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, President of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.
The Postal and Philatelic Service produced a commemorative philatelic series, including a folder, a souvenir envelope, and a special postmark dedicated to the 325th Anniversary of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy. The stamp reproduces the façade of Palazzo Severoli, its historic seat. The image highlights the architectural elegance of the building and underscores its deep connection with the diplomatic tradition of the Holy See.
Among those present at the gathering were Engineer Antonino Intersimone, Director of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate, and Don Felice Bruno, Head of the Postal and Philatelic Service.
