Archbishop Emilio Nappa presides over the Eucharistic celebration on the liturgical memorial of Saint Rita of Cascia for the employees of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services

On the liturgical memorial of Saint Rita of Cascia, on Friday morning, May 22, a Mass was celebrated for the members of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services of the Governorate of Vatican City State.

The celebration was presided over by Archbishop Emilio Nappa, Secretary General of the Governorate, in the Chapel of Saint Giles, located within the premises of the sisters Franciscan Missionaries of Mary congregation. The sisters work in the Tapestry and Textile Restoration Laboratory of the Vatican Museums.

In his homily, the Archbishop reflected on the Gospel of John, in which the Risen Jesus asks Simon Peter twice whether he loves Him. After Simon Peter responds by affirming his affection for Him, Jesus adapts Himself to the Apostle’s capacity and asks him one final time—not whether he loves Him, but whether he cares for Him.

Concelebrating with Archbishop Nappa was Father Bruno Silvestrini, an Augustinian priest and chaplain of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services, who reminded those present that he is always available to employees for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and especially for spiritual guidance.
