The Vatican Post Office celebrates Saint Luigi Orione

On May 16, 2025, the day of the liturgical feast in memory of Saint Luigi Orione, as per tradition, the Postal and Philately Service of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems gathered at the headquarters of the Vatican Central Post Office for a moment of prayer and reflection.

Visits to the Vatican Observatory

Relations between scientists and the Church have not always been easy. So much so that Galileo was condemned in 1633 for defending heliocentrism. Electric vehicle charging stations now activated

Another step has been achieved in the “Ecological Conversion 2035” program, launched in 2022 aimed at reducing carbon emissions to zero. The Vatican State’s electric vehicle charging service is now functioning. 

The new Vatican Philately and Numismatics Service for July

The Governorate of Vatican City State has undertaken an extensive process of review and renewal of the State Mint and of the Philatelic and Numismatic marketing activities, aimed at ensuring greater efficiency, quality and transparency in all aspects of its operations. This process has involved the entire supply chain: from internal management policies to product design, to the redefinition of safer, more digital and accessible distribution channels.

The Band of the Gendarmerie Corps of Vatican City at the Jubilee of Bands and Popular Entertainment

From Vatican City through the Arco delle Campane and St. Peter’s Square, the musical marching band of the Gendarmerie Corps paraded to Piazza Risorgimento as part of its participation in the Jubilee of Bands and Popular Entertainment which took place on May 10 and 11. On Sunday afternoon, May 11, the band then held a concert in Piazza Risorgimento square outside of the Vatican walls, performing a variety of melodies among which the papal anthem, the Jubilee anthem and the Italian national anthem to hundreds of visitors and pilgrims in the square.
