The General Secretary meets the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Holy See
On Tuesday, 4 June, Sister Raffaella Petrini, General Secretary of the Governorate of Vatican City State met with Joseph Simon Donnelly, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Holy See, at the Offices of the Governorate. The Diplomat was accompanied by Paul Furgiule, Deputy Facility Manager & Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO), Andrea Battilocchi, Supervisory Engineer and by Alyce Ahn, Political and Economic Officer of the Embassy.
The aim of the U.S. delegation’s visit was to introduce the experts of the American Embassy’s Tri-Mission Rome’s Facilities Team, and to discuss accessibility issues regarding disabled people. The Governorate is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees, as established by the Pontifical Commission of Vatican City State, in Law No. LIV on the health and safety of workers in the workplace, dated 10 December 2007.
“The Service for Health and Safety of workers in the workplace is under the direction of the President of the Governorate, and was instituted to ensure the protection of the health and safety of workers. The President is assisted by the Directorates of Technical Services, of Health and Hygiene, and of Security and Civil Protection, to which he can delegate tasks and actions related to their responsibilities”.
